The lots back onto fairways, ponds and pine preserves, and that is the drainage story: the course and the preserve were engineered to hold water, and the house lot in between was graded to drain toward them. Where the lot has settled or a pool enclosure went in later, water stops short of the fairway and sits against the lanai.
